Vision
The fiscal team envisions a REC IX Fiscal Department that is timely, accurate, efficient and responsive to support the mission of REC IX.
Supports
REC IX receives revenues from multiple sources including federal grants, federal flow through, state grants/initiatives/programs, and special projects. At the direction of the Coordinating Council, REC IX manages fiscal programs for individual school districts, REC IX departments, and special projects on behalf of the New Mexico Public Education Department.
Fiscal team members are involved in grant and program application development, development of budget, and ongoing fiscal maintenance for the various programs. Budget authority is established through the Coordinating Council for each fiscal program. The fiscal team is responsible for entering budgets into fiscal operating systems and processing of orders and payments. REC IX fiscal operations are responsible for ensuring timely and accurate reporting of budget data to the New Mexico Public Education Department and other granting agencies to ensure seamless delivery of resources for our schools and programs. Fiscal team members also provide technical assistance for member districts and programs regarding budget development and maintenance, general procurement, and fiscal operations.
The REC IX fiscal team also manages payroll on behalf of the 65+ employees as well as managing personnel records and human resources.
REC IX fiscal team also prepares and submits appropriate documentation as part of the required single audit report; a process which assures compliance and accountability for all dollars
