Joanie Bingerman Was One of a Kind

Our Head Start family lost a beautiful soul on Saturday, March 27. Joanie Bingerman was one of a kind. Joanie was a Head Start parent in 2002 and would volunteer in her daughter's classroom in Carrizozo. She was working at the local Tastee Freeze while working on her associate's degree in 2006. She got a job as a Head Start TA in Carrizozo in 2007 and worked her way up. She was a lead teacher in Capitan for three years before becoming our health and transportation manager.

Joanie took on a very large job and surpassed everyone's expectations. She poured her heart and soul into her job. She would buy breakfast out of her own pocket for the kids, she delivered meals over Christmas break for those in need, and she did it with a positive attitude. She never expected anything in return except to know someone cared for those kids and families.

She was a mother and grandmother who did everything she could to care for and love her kids. She was serious about her job but had a silly side. She made others laugh and her smile could light up a room. We are going to miss her more than words can express. We love you, Joanie Bingerman!
