Region 9's Impact

With the dynamically changing environment, we have faced the past two weeks, Region 9 remains open. Departments and staff are mostly continuing work by working remotely and on projects and assignments specific to program needs. We are proud to continue this support, especially to the students, families, and communities that need our help at this time. Our office remains open but closed to the public. The majority of services we provide are capable of being delivered in a virtual environment. We are promoting following the CDC and DOH guidelines and are working to adhere to the governor’s orders. Social distancing, handwashing, and good cold and flu etiquette are being promoted and passed down to the populations we serve. This is a good example of the impact Region 9 has on our community. Virtual meetings via Google Hangouts, Zoom, GoTo Meeting are occurring frequently by many individuals across a variety of settings. They are quickly becoming our norm and I am proud of the technical ability of all Region 9 staff and their ability to shift so easily to this format. It is one of our many abilities to provide leadership in this time of isolation that make Region 9 such a strong organization. I am proud to be associated with such a great group of individuals.
