Statewide Mentorship Program Purpose

The New Mexico Office of Special Education (OSE), in partnership with Region 9 Education Cooperative (REC9), provides support to first through third-year teachers in special education, teachers of Native American students, teachers in highly populated Native American areas, or inclusion teachers with a Statewide Teacher Mentorship Program!

The Region 9 Mentorship program’s primary purpose is to provide a support system for first through third-year teachers. This is achieved with high-quality professional development and mentoring to ensure an effective transition into the teaching field. This focus increases the retention of capable teachers in the classroom to ensure academic success for our students.
